Methodology
We reuse the same warehouse quality gate: companies with a disclosed CEO-to-median-employee pay ratio, a quality-passed CEO pay row, no generic fallback, and blob-backed coverage.
The ratio is the company's disclosed figure — CEO reported total compensation divided by median employee pay for that fiscal year. We do not invent or backfill missing ratios.
One row per company. The warehouse snapshot already keeps the latest qualifying fiscal year. Companies without a usable ratio are dropped before ranking.
Limitations
This is not every U.S. public company. Coverage is the rentseek.ing warehouse cut of companies that pass the same quality gate as the undated highest-ratio page. Companies that have not filed a usable ratio are omitted.
A high ratio can reflect a large CEO grant, a lower-paid global workforce, or both. Compare peers and read the filing before treating the number as a verdict. See the CEO pay ratio explainer.
